Pinar has over fifteen years of hands-on engineering and research experience in academic and industrial settings. Over the last decade in her oilfield career, she has held the positions of Design Engineer, Metallurgical Engineer, Materials Engineer, and Quality Systems Manager. She is a published author and has presented at multiple conferences and short courses. Pinar earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from Middle East Technical University. This was followed by a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science and Engineering with a post-doctoral fellowship at Texas A&M University. She began her oilfield career working with artificial lift applications and manufacturing processes, materials characterization, and failure analysis. She is currently the Quality Assurance Manager for ChampionX, where she is responsible for managing all facility quality programs and implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) methods such as Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen to drive out waste and improve productivity, and improvement of product quality from process through production by identifying and improving current inspection systems, quality operating procedures, and material and finished goods inspection requirements in accordance with all quality and safety protocols.
