Carter Copeland

Carter Copeland has 40 years of experience in the oil industry, including working for Exxon before forming his own independent oil company.  Carter is also the managing partner of a new oilfield services firm that strives to help operators reduce their operating and environmental footprint.  Carter is past program chair of the SWPSC, General Chair of the SWPSC, and is a recipient of the Crawford Service Award.  He has presented various technical papers at the SWPSC and Permian Basin Artificial Lift Forum.  Carter founded the Permian Basin Water in Energy Conference and is also on the board of the Midland CO2 Conference.  He is a registered professional engineer in petroleum engineering, a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and is a graduate from the University of Michigan in mechanical engineering.
