Mark started his oil field career as a relief pumper for a small oil company. He moved on to work at Sun Oil Company in 1978 and as he advanced, he knew he had found the career he loved. Mark was fortunate to have worked with many of the pioneers of the industry while crafting his skills in production optimization, automation, failure reduction, and analysis. Mark has worked in operations and for vendors and service providers. In his ongoing career, Mark is still pursuing improvement and continuing to learn, as well as teaching his crafts to the younger generation for the propagation of the industry he loves. Mark retired from Oxy in 2019 and went back to work for Lufkin in 2021. He continues to work for Lufkin as the automation sales manager and mentor to the younger generation with which he works.
